Wood Group Australia has acquired 100% of the shareholding of Netlink Inspection Pty Ltd ("Netlink") www.netlinkinspection.com from its previous owner Webspy Pty Ltd. Netlink, which is a provider of customised software products and services relating to asset integrity management, is based in Perth WA, and will become an integral part of IONIK Consulting Ltd's global business.

Netlink products which include 4-Site and Inspection Manager have been used for clients such as Apache and Maersk Energy, in locations as far afield as the NW Shelf, Philippines, N. Sea and Qatar. Netlink's Operations Manager, Mason Linden, will report directly to IONIK’s Global Business Leader Mark Linton, and become part of the Ionik executive management team.
Mark Linton said: “Integrity Management/Life Cycle Assurance is one of the biggest challenges facing the global Oil & Gas industry. With a barrel of oil costing more today than at any time in our history and a prediction this could continue to increase in the future, coupled with most experts forecasting that we are either in, or close to, peak oil and as a consequence we find the economic life of most production facilities being extended way beyond their original design parameters. Additionally we have projects in design today with asset lives of 40 to 60 years being planned. It clearly makes good business sense to have a very robust and dynamic asset integrity assurance system in place to manage and optimise the engineering and operational requirements necessary to sustain such systems.”
Mark continued: “We believe the acquisition of the Netlink business will greatly enhance IONIK’s technology base and as a result expand our capacity to provide world class services to all corners of the Oil and Gas industry."
Notes:
IONIK Consulting operates as part of the J P Kenny business unit, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Wood Group.
